Tuition and Fees (2009-2010)

Every course at the University of Alberta has a fee index, represented by the (fi=X) beside each course listed in the University Calendar. Most undergraduate courses have a fee index of six (for a three-credit course) or twelve (for a six-credit course). The cost of a course is therefore determined by multiplying the fee index of each course by the fee index value that is determined by the Board of Governors. (Audited courses are assessed using the above formula and multiplying by ½.) 

Most courses offered at Augustana are three-credit courses which are referred to as “Half Courses” below. Students usually take a full load of five half courses in each semester, or ten in a full academic year.

In addition to tuition fees, Augustana students are required to pay the appropriate Mandatory Non-Instructional (MNI) fees. Sample fee assessments for a full-load student (5 courses per term) and required MNI and Students' Union fees are provided below.
